Proceedings opened 1 at a few minutes past 8 o'olook by a 3 piano-forte solo by Miss Fowke, whose 1 playing was much admired, and tho young 3 performer loudly and deservedly ap--3 plaaded. The stationmaster, Mr T 3 Arthur, then gave a short addreaa of ' welcome In that humorous and happy manner for whioh he Is well known. r Dancing interspersed with songs and r readings ( together with a most liberal 1 supply of refreshments, helped the even- ' ins; along towards the small hours m a ' manner most agreeable to all. As MO, i Mr Wilson fulfilled the duties of that ■ office to the satisfaction of all. The pleasures of the evening was much en' hancad by the music of Mr W. Pearson ancl Mr H. fiHoveuoo^j tho latter gentleman also contributed two songs which were enthusiastically applauded. A pleasIng feature of the evonlng was the excellent manner m whioh the juvenile members of the party were catered for, apples, lollies, biscuits, etc., being enpplied ad libitum. Meadanns Fowke, Potter and Btokerstnff presided at the refreshment table, whioh fairly groaned under the weight of the many good things provided, and theaa Udies by their attention to the wants of their numerous customers earned the warm and hearty thanks of all.
