The House resumed at 8 p.m. IN COMMITTEE OP WAYS AND MEANS Sir Ho Atkinson delivered his Financial Statement. Mr Seddon said they were now aßked to sgree to such a large amount of taxation, that he for one should be almost prepared to refuse assent to the resolutions. He would ask, therefore, that the financial debate should bo taken on Friday, la order to decido it. gir H. AtklDßoa Bald he was quite prepared to take the debate on Friday if the Hoqae desired it. Mr Smith thought the Premier shonld give them an assurance that the Tariff Bill woald be brought down not later than Friday, Sir H. Atkinson Bald he oould bring the Bill down next day, but he considered it was impossible for any hon member to express an Intelligent opiuion on it m leas th»n a week. Ho was quite prepared to go on with tho Bill on Friday. The amended tariff resolutions were then put and agreed to, and the Home rose at 9.55 p.m.
