SOCIAL PURITY.
Sir H. Parkes replying to a deputation from tbe Social Purity Benevolent ' Association said the Government would amend the law relating to Affiliation to give women powers to summon alleged father for a conditional order of maintenance, to take effect from the birth of the child. The desirableness of such amendment was urged on the Government that it would tend to prevent disertion.
