. » At Auckland the weather for the holiday was showery. In ihe aaternoon the Aucklend Yacht Olub hold a raoe In the harbor for large yaoat?, which was (iron by the Rita, Beyond the firing of a/et* de joie In the morning there was no military display, and the football match, monopolised the pablio attention. At Wellington In addition to the uaaal volunteer movements and races, a bull In honor of tho Queen's Birthday was given at Government House. At Danedln the day was generally observed aa a holiday. The weather waafine, but a oold wind was blowing, and light ahowera fell late In tho afternoon. The football match between the Oamaru and Ui ion Olaba attraoted a large attend* anoo. It resulted In a wla for the Union by ooe point to nothing. At Ohrißtohuroh a Buooeßßful Bold day and sham fight took plaoe at New Brighton, their being 559 Volunteers on parade. A wedding at the Salvation Army Birraoka was an evanfc of considerable importance, and attraoted the attention of a large number. A froe tea was given to 3000 youngsters In the Drill Shed by the Army. The Mayor gave a ball at the Town Hall In the evening whioh passed off well.. The Mapor also gave a dinner to tho inmates of the Armagh Street Depot.
