Sydney , May 21, • Sir Henry Parkes, the Premier; declines to dismiss the Chinese question unless the Conference is composed of members of the Executive Counqils of other Governments. It is considered that this action has been brought about by the rumored intention of tbe New Zealand Government to send a representative other than a Minister of the Crown. Government have decided to allow detained Chinese to land on payment of the poll tax, but have stipulated in accordance with tbe recent proclamation that they must reside in the localities specially set apart for them. Sydney, May 22. ! The writ of habeas Corpus is to be applied to all the Chinese passengers who wish to pay the poll tax. . The federated Seamen's Union has decided to recommend that the .Chinese be boycotted. , ,
