Melbourne, May 19, The Rabbit Commission visit Tintallogy run, on the River Darliog, m order to thoroughly investigate the disease discovered by Drs Butcher and Ellis. ' Mr Winter, treasurer of the local branch of the National League, has commenced a libel suit against the " Age " for publishing a letter m which it was stated Winter had failed to account for all the money received by him. A Commission has been appointed to examinefthe treasurer of the Dublin League and Mr Parnell. At a largely attended meeting to-day of those interested m the soft goods trade, resolutions protesting against any increase m the tarriff were carried. The resolutions added that such increase would be detrimental to con> merce. Chas. Markham, an employe m a boot factory at Richmond, who, on the night of April 27th, attempted to murder his wife, from whom he had been separated since Christmas, by sii ■)!)» her, has been committed for trial. Accused admitted that he had fired the shots ia a fit of jealousy* ,
