ARCHBISHOP MORAN ON THE CHINESE QUESTION.
Archbishop Moran, m the course of an interview, said the Colonies were acting m an arbitrary and unchristian spirit m prohibiting the Chinese from landing. He addmitted that formerly he had held | a different opinion, but after careful ! consideration he had seen good cause to change his vie r/s. A great deal of the agitation was fictitious and got up by loafers and others too lazy to work. (Reoelved 15th May, 2 p.m.) R.M.S. TONGARIRO. Hobaet, May 15. The Tongariro arrived at 2 o'clock this morning from Plymouth and pails again at 10 o'clock.
