The Government Statist of Viotoria has I sent to Lord Knutsford an interesting report I upon Viotoria, giving the probable population of Australia for decennial periods, beginning with 1891 and ending with 1981. In 1891 it is oaiculated that Australia will not have 4,000,000 inhabitants, but m 1901 there will be rather more than 5,500,000, whioh, rising with giant strides, will by 1981 have increased and multiplied to the enormous total of 93,865,138 souls.
