IMPOBTANT TO Grain Growers, I BEG to call the attention of Farmers and Grain Producers to my new method of poiooning Wheat for the destruction of email birds. In former years the poisoned grain supplied from various sources had some Berious defeoto, which I claim to have entirely obviated m my new and patented prrcaßH. By the old method, Immediately the Wheat begins to grow, the poison is abaorbed and becomes useless. Whole. Wheat does not absorb the poiaon beyond the outer skin or btan and a few showers of rain washes It off. I have Imported a machine at oonBfderable oost for splitting the wheat berry along the crease and removing the germ, which, of course, prevents germination, thus presorving the full strength of the poison when applied. The Wheat prepared by my process absorbs the atryohnine through the floury portions of the berry after it is split and degermed, and as the birds are known to reject the outer huek and eat only the inside, the poiaon cannot fail to , be effeotive. Seoonda of Wheat contain so many foreign seeds, such as combine, aorrel, dock weeds, &c, which birds never touch, that It is expensive, and a waste of strychnine to use It as has hitherto beea done. The small and withered grainß m seconds cannot poßaibly absorb uofficient pojaon to make it of any value, and much injury la done to the land In the dissemination of noxlons weeds. I shall be pleased to chow oamplea of Wheat as ifc comes from the machine and aftec poisoning, and explain fully the improvements m my process to all who take au laterest m grain growing. J. M.
