Read Dealing m horseflesh says a northern paper Ib not a very lucrative calling at present, at any rate, this has been the experience of a number of gentlemen who invested several hundred pounds m a speculation to buy horses for exportation to Sydney. Tho horses were bought m Taranaki, and taken to Auokland, where a number were offered, but could hardly find purchasers. They were then shipped to Sydney, and plaoed m the market, but to the chagrin and disgust of the speculators, the majority of them had to be disposed of at, and m some oases, under the original buying prioes. A number were sold at fairly remunerative prioes, but altogether the venture turned, out a disastrous, failure.
