I BEG to call the attention of Farmers and Grain Producers to my new method of poisoning Wheat fur the destruction of email birds. In former yeurs the poisoned grain supplied from various Bonrcea had some serious dofeots, which I claim to have entirely obviated In my new and puteuted process. By the old method, Immediately the Wheat begins to grow, tho poison is absorbed and becomes usblobu, Whole Wheat doca not absorb the poison beyond the outer skin or bran and a few shovrora of rain washes It off. I have Imported a machine at oonaldorable cost for split ting tho wheat berry along the crease and removing the germ, which, of coarse, prevents germination, thus preserving the full strength of tho poison when applied. The Wheat prepared by my process absorbs tho atrychnlno through the floury portions of the berry after it Is split and deformed, and »a tho birds are known to reject the outer hunk and oat only tho Inaido, the poison cannot fail to bo effeotive. Soconda of Wheat contain so many foreign seeds, such as oornbino, aorrol, dock weeda, &c, which blrdoncvor touch} that it is expensive, and a waste of strychnine to use It as has hitherto boon dono. Tho small and withered grains In seconds cannot possibly absorb sufficient poison to muke It of any value, and much injury id done to the land in the dtnaernlnatlon of noxlona weeds.
