THE KIAMA DISASTER,

Brisbane, May 8. A horrible murder was committed yesterday at Gladstone, a seaport town portb of'tbis city. The victim was a gjri eight years old named Gully, who was found with her throat cut. It is sppposed she was criminaly assaulted by a ma.n named JCiss, who has since been arrested on suspicion.

Sydney, May 8. The men killed by an explosion at Kiama yesterday were John Hughes, and Anthony Hammond. William Hammond had both legs cut off by a mass of rock falling on him. Another man named Myers was jammed in the earth by the foot, which it was /ound necessary to amputate to effect a release.
