Renewed reports are current that Cardinal Morgan succeeds Dr. Walsh, and groat excitement prevails throughout Ireland. London, May 2. The Nationalist party regard the appointment of Cardinal Moran as successor to Archbishop Walsh of Dublin with disfavor. The " Freeman's Journal „ declares that the Irish people have won their battles on the lines laid down by that paper, and notwithstanding the action of the Pope, the clergy will continue to cooperate with the Nationalist party. The Irish members will hold a caucus for the purpose of considering the Papal decree.
