A SENSATIONAL AFFAIR.

Melbourne, April 28. A sensational attempt at murder was made at Richmond last night. A young woman named Marcham, living apart from her husband received a telegram brought by a cabman requesting her to go to her mother who, it was stated waa ill. The woman was accompanied by the cabman to her mother's house. While alighting, her husband who appears to have been waiting, fired two shots from 'a revolver, one of j which penetrated her cheek and the other lodged m her neck. The woman is m the hospital. The cabman and husband made off, but the former was afterwards secured. The husband, who had previously threatened his wife's , life, has not been captured. The telegram employed m the affair was a bogus message.
