THE CHINESE QUESTION.
Lord Knutsford, Secretary oi State for the Colonies, m the course of private conversation, said that the pro* posals of the Australian Governments for excluding the Chinese from Australia would probably seriously complicate the relations existing between England and China, and he thought that it was unlikely the Imperial Government would interfere m the matter.
