On Wednesday the weather was fairly 6ne. The yards were pretty well filled with Btock, though entries were no bo heavy aa at the past few markets — that is, taken as a whole. A large supply of fat cattle waa penned, however ; other descriptions Bmallec all ronnd. Tne attendar.ca of buyers and others was about an average one. Fat Cattle. —As before Bald, a heavy entry was on offjr, ia quality and weights very varied, a good proportion being light weights, Buyera were not over plentiful, not very eager, and only the beat aorta attracted any competition, and then bat little, and values showed cot the slightest tendency to improve, and by no maanj a email portion of the entry was passed oat unsold. Salea were made aa follows : — Prime heavy weight steers' at from £6 lOi to £8 10 .<, medium weJghta from £4 12* 6d to £5 153, heifers and fat oovrs at from £2 17a 6i to £5 ss, being at from 15j to 17s 6d per 1091b, aooordlng to quality. Stoeh Cattle. — A light entry, mainly odd lots ; buyers very eoirce, and business dull, bat entries hardly sufficient to test market. Dairy Cattle. — A fairly numerous entry and slightly better enquiry, valaeu showing a little improvement. Fat Sheep.— A fairly numerous entry, not so heavy as at late markets. The recently rough weather detraoted from the appearance of the stock ; the quality in some caaea wag very good, but on the whole not first class. The market opened fairly well, but drooped a little as the market progressed, the prim?at quality meeting with the boat enquiry. Ua the whole, however, values gRPo way Boraewhat compared with late marketa. Crossbred wethers of the primoat quality Bold at from 9j 63 to 12a par head, lighter sorts from 7a 6d upwards ; merino ewes sold up to 9a 3d ; ewes of mixed ages at from 5a 4d to 7a 6d ; merino wethera aold i at from 3s lOd to 53 7d ; and from l£l to If d pei* Ib, according to quality, may be recorded as ruling values Store Sheep. — A fairly numerous entry of varied aorta. The demand was moderately active, most linea selling at about late rates. Meaara Miles and Co. sold two lines of crossbred ewca at 4s 3d and 43 9d reapeotlvely. The Loan aad Mercantile Agency Company oold a line of raised 2-tooth at 4s 7<i. Messes Bannetta Broß. Bold a line of 849 crossbred ewea at 4a 1M per head, 110 l&mba at 4s, 214 aged^ewea at 3a 4d, 166 ditto at 3s, 198 ditto at 3s 7d, &o. Pigs. — A full market, Heavy pigs beginn'n* to be sent forward. For all kinds an aotivo demand was shown, and values showed an upward tendency. Baconora sold at from 35a to 463 per head, porkers from 18 j to 30a, say fully 3£i per lb, while the demand for good stores seems unallerod.
