COLONIAL TARIFFS.
In the House of Commons, replying to a question from Mr Howard Vincent, Sir Jas. Ferguson, Under Secretary for Foreign Affairs, said under the existing treaties even the colonies were prevented from conceding British produce fiscal advantages over that from foreign countries, and he considered that it would be impolitic at present to hurriedly terminate such treaties.
