ST. STEPHEN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL.

On Sunday week laßt the children attending ihe St Stephen's and Hampattad Church Sunday Schools met (a the Church Schoolroom, the oco&Bion being the Bnnual distribution of ihe prizes pained during the year ending the 31st December last, A large number of parents and othera interested m the Bchools were present, and nearly 300 children 5 Tho Incumbent a^id that during the year the Boholars attending the maid school had increased from 151 to 173, while the Hampstead division cambered 112, 31 mora than last year. Thus the total number of children attending the two schools was 2 ; 6, of whom 144 wore be ya and 141 girls. The discipline of both schools was good, and the attendance showed a marked improvement In respeot to regularly. Much care had buen taken m awarding the prz>p, and although it was quite Impossible to avoid occasional mistakes and errors of judgment In Buoh a matter, he thought that the scholars themsfelvea would feel that the selection of prizvlakers waa a just and impartial one. Should any scholars feel themselves unfairly passed over, he would be very glad to re-examine the mark-books. He might say that while the number of priz a waa greater than In any prevloua year, the standard of desert was a higher one. Daring the afternoon, short nddreases were given by Mr R S.
