The Orizaba has beaten the record between England and Australia having accomplished the passage from land to land m 32 days 3 hours.
(Received April 19, 12 30 p.m.) : CAPTAIN STRACHAN'S CLAIM. London, April 17. Mr Herbert, Permanent Under- ' Secretary for the Colonies, denies that any concession of territory m New Guinea was granted to Capt. Strachan, and has referred his claim to Mr McGregor, Chief Commissioner.
