KYLE SCHOOL.
The annual treat m connection with the Kyle School was held on F.-iday las*, 13th i-jbt , aod proved ao immenao 6ucce c. At about 3 o'clock pm. the gporta under the direction of Mesara Mulligan, MoAnulty, Watson, and K. Beatty, wore commenced, and prizes cons sting of toys, etc., wera keenly contested for by the children. The sports being over the children repaired to the schoolroom, where a bountiful spread, consisting of everything that would tend to excite tho appetite, waa awaiting the hungry months that were soon to be seen destroying the appetites that had been oreated iv the sports ground* Justice having been done by the children to the good things provided th^y retired, and the tables wera relaid for the adults, who, hrv-ing partaken of tea,' retired, and the children re assembled for the distribution of prizes Ihe Chairman, Mr Mulliga-, then addressei the parents present, and explained the principle upjn which the prizes had beei granted. He then called upon the Mastor to distribute the prizes. The Master addressed a few words to those present, urging upon the parents tho necessity of sending their children regu'arly and punctually, and thus assist them to pas 3 the standards yunr by year. The prizea wro then distributed, and cheers for tho Ohnirman aud the Mas cr being called for, and heartily responded to by tho children, tho first part of the programme was brought to a close. The room was then clenrod, nnd dancing to the strains of Mian Lambie's piano, and Messrs Limbio'a and Johnson's violins, waa comrnencod and kept up till daylight. Whera all work d so well it would be invidious to particularise, but too much praise cannot be given to Messrs Mulligan aud Lambie, and Mesdames Larabie, Mulligan, and Hardwick, and Misses Lambie (2), and Lunt, for the untiri.ig way m which they worked to make the treat the decided success that it proved to be. During tho evening refreshments wero copiou.ly Mippluxi, arid anvoral excellent songs and recitations given, and all went homo thoroughly saliefied with the night's entertainment.
