One of the London sporting papera calls attention to the doingß of the veteran cricketer, Mr Charles Absolum, the fathor of all cricketers, as he is called, who, during the past season, has again been doing wonders with the bat and ball. Ho is m his seventieth year, has been before the public for over fiftylive years, and has made an average of con- ; siderably over 1000 runs for the last ten yeara. He retains his strength m a marvellous manner, and can still take the half-hundred weight on his little finger and make hia mark seven feet high. He has been a^total abstainer from intoxicating drink and tobacco for over thirty years.
