THE AMERICAN TARIFF.
(Per Press Association.; Washington, April 9. The House of Representatives has been sitting since Wednesday last debating the Tariff Bill. It has been proposed to refund proportionate sums to the various Staies, or make a general reduction m taxation, m order to decrease the surplus, and so obviate the necessity for a revision of the tariff.
