After ecarchiog for some time, the parents oaught sight of a largo brown bear m the distance. When they got nearer they were horrified to find the lost children close to it. They were running round the animal, shaking hands with it, pulling its tail, and 80 on. The bear was evidently amused at these new playfellows, and wa3 as good-natured as any dog could have been. The little girl now fed the bear with fruit, while the boy climed on its back and shouted for his queer horse to go. The parents cried out m terror, the little boy slipped off the bear's back, and the animal quietly trotted off into the depth.3 of the forest.
