For the next election 172 candidates are announced for 72 seats ; 78 have declared themselves Protectionists, and 10 are Freetraders. The question of separation is nut considered a vital one, and only 9 candidates have declared for ir. Eighty of the candidates support Mcllwraith, and 70 Griffiths. Two have not declared whom they will support.
