TO THE EDITOB; Sib, — As a stranger, who is on a visit to your town, I must express my surprise at the way m which somo of the young follows conduct themselves m the street. It is impossible for a respectable woman to pass these hoodlums without being suV'jected to the foulest language imagineable. Une would naturally ask where are the police ? I think it is high time an example was made of some of these street loafers, and m meting out their punish*, ment, tho Magistrate should not forget to add. a few strokes of the cat-o' •nine-tails.
