SIR GEORGE GREY'S PROPOSED VISIT TO ENGLAND.

We announced Borne little time ago that Sir George Grey contemplated an early visit to England, but we understand, on good authority, that Sir George does not propose to leave the colony until the cloae of the oaring session of the General Aiaembly. He will again be present at Wellington, and will endeavor to obtain the aerl )us consideration of members for the acheme for acquiring large estates, for the purpose of organising a great national system of settlement of people upon the lands of the colony now almoßt unpeopled. During his visit to England Sir George will endeavor, m various ways, to popularise the colony, and will no doubt come into close oommunloation with Lord Saliabury, to whom he is well known, about the question of British State-aided emigration. Sir George oontemplatea going to England via America, where he has many friends, and where his name and fame are well known. His relative Mr Grey, left by the last mail boat for San Fraucisco, and will wait m the United States for some months, until the arrival of Sir George. We belteve that the absence of Sir George Grey will not be a vecy prolonged one, and that prior to his departure some public demonstration will be organised to mark the deep appreciation of bis great and distinguished career, and the undoubted servioes he baß rendered to New Zealand [The above Is taken from the " Auckland Bell," but it will have been noticed that m an Interview with the Star's reporter, Sir George has denied that he has any Intention of going Home at all,— Ed ]
