VICTORIA.

Melbourne, April 6.

The erection of a new fort at the entrance to the harbor has been commenced. It is expected that it will take eight years to complete the work, and that the fort will cost half-a-million of money. It is now considered certain that a yachting party which left the port on Monday last, on a fishing excursion, has been drowned. A passing boat's crew state that they saw a yacht caught by a squall, which capsized it m the harbor on that day.
