MOUNT SOMERS STONE.

TO XHR EDITOR

Sir,— ln the "Guardian" of the 29 Ji Maroh there is a gushing article headed " Resources of Mount Somers," In which a statement 13 made that the pink atone quarry has been given np because the white stone is of a more suitable nature for the Melbourne market. Thiß is not the c*se ; the men have been removed because owing to some disturbance m the strata the pink stone seems to have sunk , to a lower level, or at least changed its ! poßitioa. This can only be determined by further explorat on. It is a pity your correspondent does not make sure of his facts before making such statements. I am, etc., W. S. Peter. Anama, April 4th, 1888.
