The annual meeting of the shareholders of the Wellington Manawatu Railway Company was held to«day. The report and balance-sheet were unanimously adopted. Arthur Sooullar, who has been lost In the bush since Friday last, was foond thid morning three miles north of the ShanoD railway station. When discovered he was light headed, but is now recovering. A yearling colt by Albany, no name, was sold to Mr Boraeford for 250 guineaß ; Sommell to Mr Goodman for 300 guineas ; Apres Mol to Mr McMillan for 200 guineas ; Jet d'Eau to Connor for 410 guineas ; Artillery was passed In at 500 guineas ; Tasman at 375 guineas ; Wolverine at 350 guineas. At the Middle Park Company's sale, Apremont — Strenua colt, was sold to Mr G. G, Stead f>r 200 guineas ; St. George— Fieurange filly, to Mr Fraser for 135 guineas. The first meeting of the Plumpton Park Cjursing Club began co-day. The weather was fine, and the attendance small. Hares were scarce and very weik. One round each of the Derby, OiVa, April Cup, and Members Plate waa inn. The meeting will not be continued tomorrow, as the stakes will be divided. The Hon G. F. Richardßon was a passenger to Lyttelton by the Wairarap3, and stayed to-day m Ohriatchurch. He leaves by to-morrow morning's express for the South. This afternoon Mr Richardson met tho Selwyu County Council, and heard their views aB to the drainage of the Halswell dißtrlot, whioh he promised to oonvey to tha Minister of Public Works. Dunbdin, April 4 At the Suprema Court to-day no bill was found against T. O. Gibbs for attempted sulolde. The charge against Jae. Mcßory, of murder, waa thrown out, but a true bill was found for manßlacghter. Ah Chew was sentenced to two years' hard labor for laroeny of lead. Wang Kew King, on two charges of burglary, was aentenoed to s!x years penal servl-* tude. There are 437 entriea for the Ram and Ewe fair on Thursday.
