In vekcargill, April 4. I 1 ; la almost certain tl.a<; two men lost their lives m the New Nlver lharbor on Tueaday morning. Mr Hatch's schooner Awarua was lying some miles below the town, awaiting a alaut to sail for Mao* quarrle'e lalanda. On Monday afternoon tfarry Ludson, seaman, and Andrew Scott, ih) cook, took the schooner's boat to go to Sandy Point for water. They left tho ship's boat there and taking another oime up to town, where they were saen m 89Voral hotels during the evening. Theywtri on board a veasal at the ietty after midnight, and were under the (nflaenco of liquor shortly after they left to go to the boat, and have not been seen since. Tula afternoon a fisherman coming up the river saw the boat at high water mark on the eastern shore with the mast brokeo. The weather on Tuesday mornlag was extremely stormy. JLudaon, better known here as Harry Nellson, was a Norwegian, aged 38 years ; Scott w*fl 21, and was the son of John Scott, upholsterer, Tay Btreet, who had the misfortune to lose another Jaon by a gun aooldent a few years ago.
