The death is announced of the Rev Edward Hayton, a Nonoomformißt minister, whose remarkable oateer has formed tho subject of numerous Sunday sohool stories. Deceased began life as a blacksmith. While blowing his bellows he steadily studied his books before the hearth, so that when he was out of his apprenticeship ho was fairly well educated. By dint of perseverance he beoamo an accomplished Greek scholar and a pretty poet. Several years of his early life wero spent m Australia on tho goldfields, and also m New Zealand, where his brilliant qualities and benevolence made him a marked man. Returning to England suddenly he resumed his old place of student-blacksmith, working at the forge and studying clasßies. Later he became a Home missionary, and m 1876, at the age of forty-seven, was ordained pastor of Blennerhasset Congregational Church, and there for thirteen years he ded his life-work,
