FATAL FIRE AT OAMARU.
The " North Otago Times " reporta that a fire broke out about one o'clock on Saturday morning Id a detached loan-to In ÜBk street, ovriied and occupied by an old woman named Dijnn, Four feet In front of the lem to was a two-roomGd cottage,' which waa unoccupied. When the brigade arrived ou the spot the leanto waa all ableso. Captain Mainland waa informed that the occupant of the place had nut been S9on, and It waa feared ahe waa In the burning building. This proved too true. The brigade having got tho fire ander broko down the charred weather boarding and discovered Mrs Dunn lying with her face towards the floor In a curled up posture. Heir body was frightfully burned, and her faoa blackened beyond recognition ; The police took charge of her remains and conveyed thorn to tho Shamrock Koto!, whore an inqueat will likely bo held to day. Mra Dunn waß an old Inhabitant of Oaraara, and waa some GO years of age. She waa addicted to drink, and had been living apart from her husband (who Is working about Ngapara) for tho last eight or nine yoarg. It la supposed that Mrs Dunn had by accident aeh fire to the plaoe herself, and being unable to oopo with the fl vmee, beoamo their victim. '
