TiNWALD CHURCH BAZAAR.
The baziar, fancy lair, and gift anction Id aid of the f nnds of the parochial district of Tinwald and Longbepch opened to-day m the grain store at Tinwald, opposite the Railway Station, the baildlog being profusely and very effectively decorated with flags ; foliage, and flowers m great variety. The Btalla were arranged on both aides of the building, those on the right hsnd being devoted to fancy goods of all descriptions, and were presided over by Meadames M. Scott, Jephaon, Blerewether, Lowe, Primmer, and Garbett, and the Miaßes Stalker ajnd Davis. On the left hand aide, the first stall was oconpled by a very varied collection of produce, very carefully and tastefolly arranged, and was presided over by Mrs Joseph Clark and the Misses Clark (2)i Then came a luncheon stall, where refreshments were provided m great profusion to visitors at the rate of Is per bead, the end of the store being taken op by another refreshment stall which was also vety liberally and artistically •Hanged, all sorta of light and tasty refreshments being ton band. Both theae •tails were m the hands of Mrs Carter, ably assisted by Mlas Cooper. The larger Btock of produce, sent In as donationa-by the. settlers and others m the district, consisted of geeoe, duoks, fowls and lambs, potatoes, vegetables, mdothtrf* ait m variety, wheat, oats, cheese, butter, bacon, and eggs, h-ney, flowers, etc. otc, In fact quite a display of the articles nsnally found at one of our annnal shows, Messrs Bullock and Thomas have kindly promised to seil by auction during the day and evening and they will, no donbt, have to report good sales and plenty of buyers, as the attendance from Ashburton and tbe district is bonnd to be a large one. The fancy gooda are very effectively and Ustef nlly displayed, consisting of cushionß, mantel drapes, fans, centre tablea with Boraps, hand screens, and the thousand and one other articles found at fanoy fairs also photographs of the Tinwald Ohuroh, both exterior and luterior, leather work, dolls bedsteads completely fitted up, also a very great variety of childrens clothing, of both useful and ornamental kinds. A piano kindly lent by Mr* Soott, will discourse music this afternoon and evenIng, several ladies and gentlemen also assisting with Bongß and part pieces. Altogether, this fancy tair may be deemed quite a success, thanks to all those Mllitlng.
