AUCTIONEERS' REPORT
Me Peter Williams (for Frledlander Bros.) reports having held a sale of horses at the Bast Street Horae B9a»ar on Saturday, the 24 h iaat, Owing to the farmers baing busy at their harvest for the last two months, there has been very little business m horae flesh. Bat now the harveat la all over and the farmers carting m their grata, there la a demand for good useful sorts, but owing to the low price of grain, the prices are not bo good as they were about 3 months «go. Oat of an entry of 26 horses we sold 25. They were good useful sorts, but not up to Mr Gawn's übusl standard. The following are the prices obtained for good medium draughts :— £ls, £16, £16 10s, £19 to £20 ; for nnbroken oolta and filllea, £12, £13, £14, £16 ap tq£2l Inferior draujhta, £8 103 to £9 ; hacks, £4 10a to £8 103 We quote fifst-oUsi young upstanding geldings worth from £22 to £28 .
