As far as could be estimated up to the end of January, the Pope's jubilee presents amounted to close on four millions and a half sterling. The Sultan's jubilee gift was an annean of gold, profusely studded with precious stones, which is valued at £10,000 It was presented by the Armenian Patriarch. The President of the Frenoh Eepublio sent two magnifioent vases of Sevres China, along with a cordial letter of congratulation ; and His Holiness received £20,000 from the monks of the Chartreuse ; a diamond rose, valued at £25,000, from Ecuador ; and a huge golden staff, filled with gold dollars, from San Francisco. It is stated that the gifts include 60,000 chasubles, 12,000 cups, 8000 crucifixes, and a great quantity of other ecolesiastioal properties, whioh will be exhibited.
