There are 216 sections Of that nomber twenty-one were applied for by twenty-four applicants. Five applications were for cash, two on deferred payments, and seventeen on perpetual lease. The applicants had not gone beyond seven districts. The total area applied for was 13063 2r 25p, divided as under:— Waipara and Waikari, 45 » Or 17p; Spaxton, Pudding Hill Reservo, 604<» 3r 21p; Hinds, Reserve 350, 316 > 2r 16p ; Westerfield, Eo* j Hinds and Rangitata, 94a 3r 26p ; do. '' OTAGO , The total area applied for at the Crown Lands Office, Dunedin, on the 21at ioßtant under "The Land Aot Amendment Act 1887" was 16,234 acres. Of this area 2714 acres were sold for cash, 2440 on deferred-payment, and 11,080 acres leased under the perpetual leasing system. The' Commissioner of Crown Lands yesterday decided by lot the successful applicants for those sections for which more than one application was received, with the result that ont of 61 applicants 38 secured allotments at piices ranging from 10s to 20a per acre,
