FATAL STONE-THROWING
A ehockiog incident occurred at South Wlllinmetown, oloae to the local Grammar School, recently. A number of boys (aayß the " Age ") were engaged In a friendly game of otioket. Among the number were two boys, George Laldlaw, aged 9, son of the acting head teacher at tho local Central State Sohool, and Henry William Donch Wood, oged 12 The latter was acting p.a umpire, while tho other wns bitting. At the chango of overs Wood oroßßed from one Bide of the wicket to the other, when Laidlaw playfully took np a Btone and threw it at him. The missile struck Wood on tho head, and he bai to b 9 removed to the reddents of hia pnronta and to the enquiries of hla mother wh^t ailed him, ho replied, " Oh, nothing." He complained Bhortly af'er of being sleepy, and said he would lie down, Medical help waa obtained, but Wood died about three o'olock.
