[pee press .association.] Supposed Death by Lightning. Wanganui, March 17. The body of a man named Bolton was found near the TJpokongaro hotel this morning. Deceased had been about the hotel yesterday, but left about tea time to get hia clothes from a washerwoman. It is supposed that m returning he was struck by lightning. The New Hebrides. Dunedin, March 17. The Presbyterian Synod have received a reply from the Secretary for the Colonies to their memorial re the Now Hebrides, to the effect that the missionaries will be protected by the Joint Naval Commission i to be chargad with tha duty of edmlnfßteri ing order and of protecting the livea and property of British aobjectß and Frenoh oitlaens on the group.
