Owing to the favorable reception of Mr Gcschen's conversion scheme Australian stocks are advancing strongly. New South Wales three per cents are quoted at 107, fours at 115; New Zealgnd fonrs, £103 15s.
(Referring to the advanoe m colonial gacurities the "Wellington Post" says : —
" Several of our contemporaries, we notice, are inclined to gush a little over the recent advanco m the values of New Zealand securities, overlooking the fact that tbe halfyearly dividends are duo next month, and that until Bharea oorae to be quoted ex dU\, they show a steady inoreaso m value as interest accrues. This does not account for tho full rise m the present case, but doubtless for a good deal of it. The general condition ofjthe money market has tended to raise|(colonial Btook m publiofavor,")
