HORSE MARKET
Mr T Bollock reports as follows :— Thfre has been very little doing m the horae mirljet during the last thrr e weeks, but on Satnrday, 10th lnet., there was a very good attendance of farmers and others. Twenty-alx horaes were brought forward for the day's sale, and although the biddings were not spirited, and the number which changed bands was scarcely half the entry, it can ba easily accounted for, rb a large- number of them were of inferior stamp, which farmers decline to purchase at any price, preferring to give fa r pr'.ce* for young horses of a fairly good samp than fead scrubbers, which, In i ma r y cases, are next to useless. Out of the 26 entered 11 were Bold as foil ova, viz. : — 5 «nd 6-v«nr-old median) <!rau"h>B, rather light, £15 10s, £18, £19 10i ; 4-year.olds, £14; 7 veir-<>lds, £13 10« ; aged, £4 10a to £5 10a. Fir hacks and light hatnesß horses there appeared to be really no buyers, and only those of «n Inferior description changed hands at from £1 10a to £4 15s.
