London. M^rch 9. In the House of Commons this evening, Lord Randolph Churchill, speaking m support of Sir W. B. Bartteiot's motion for a Royal Commission of enquiry into the military requirements of the Empire, denounced the extravagance and inefficiency 'of the War Office. The R<ght Hem Mr Stanhope, Secretary ot S:ate for War, made a vigorous reply m defence of his deparment, but consented to the appointment of a commission of limited enquiry into the organisation ot j the forces. |
