DEATH OF THE EMPEROR WILLIAM.

Berlin, March 8 Prince William and Piince Bsraarck and Count von Mol ke were constantly m attendance on the Emperor, and the Crown Princess of Sweden, granddaughter of the Emperor, was summoned. The Crown Prince is expected to arrive here shortly. London, March 8. The Stock Exchange and the Continental Bourse are much depressed, owing to the Emperor Wilhelm's dea'h.. London, Mircb 9. Information from Berlin states that Emperor Wilhelm passed a very restless night on Wednesday. He was very weak, and received the Church rites at 12.30 a.m. At 1 a.m. on Thursday he died. The whole of the family were present at the death except the Crown Prince, who will leave San Rerao for the capital immediately. .*• YDNEY, March 9. 1 In consequence of the news of the death of the Emperor Wilhelm, all the flags m the ciiy and harbor w?re lowered to half mast to-day, and all the cable agencies sent the report of the death, but late m the afternoon the German onsul received intelligence that the Emperor had only swooned and was not really dead. This telegram was immediately followed by others, giving similar information. Adelaide, March 9 j On the news of the reported dea<h of the Empt-ror Wilhelm most ot the business houses put up shutters, bells were tolled, and fligs lowered to halN mast. The death was kept a secret for four hours. Prince William has been temporarily appointed Regent. -Enquiries made at the German Ambassador's proved that ins Emperor was not dead, but he was m a prolonged swoon, which had been taken for death.

Marlborough House has issued a circular announcing, that the party arranged for Monday has been postponed owing to the Emperor's dca'b. Some hours later a fresh circular was issued that the postponement had bpen made owing to his Majesty's serious illness.
At ii a.m. the Foreign Office received a telegram that the Emperor was still alive, but little hope was entertained of his surviving until the morning.
The Crown Prince will at once remove to Wiesbaden m order to pre vent the question being raised than he was not on German soil at the time of the Emperor's death.
Thtre is an impression that the truth of the Emperor's death was concealed m order to prevent State complications. Another telegram states that the swoon lasted an hour, : when the Emperor regained consciousness and tooj? stimulants and slept quietly. ' LoupoN, Maroh 9 $.50 am. Emperor Wilhelm was i£ sleep al| night resembling death, and died at 8 39 a.m. to-day.

Berlin, March 9, 5.2 r » a.m. At 5 o'clock the Emperor fell back m a swoon and was thought to be dead. He remained for a long time unconscious. At 9a m. His Majesty bad I sufficiently recovered to take food, and conversed with his daughter, the Grand 1 Duchess of Baden. At 1 o'clock this afternoon he was sleeping easily and the fever and pairi had ' decreased, but his medical attendants considered the case hopeless. Enormous crowds now surround the Palace m soaring rain . The offices of all journals iv this city which announced the death of "tho Ejnperor have been seized. The Prince of Wales informed the Queen of the demise of Wilhelm, but subsequently corrected it. ,
