THE SUNDAY QUESTION.
London, March 4.
Anglican bishops are making strong protests against the practice which is growing up amongst the aristocracy of devoting the Sabbath almost entirely to amusements. Among the richer classes theatrical entertainments, jug glery exhibitions, boxing, tennis matches, even dancing occupy the greater part of the day. The bishops are appealing to the clergy throughout the kingdom to use their influence to remedy this growing evil, and to secure and maintain the proper observance of the Sabbath day.
