Id the samt pa 'dock, two of Wo d's machines aud one Howard binder, drawn by three horses, were at work, while the Canadian binder, with only two horses, did its work with eaee. But the machine had a severe test at Willow Fridge. This was on a crop of oats, standiig over 6ft h.gb, and estimated to yield 9i) bushels to the acre As at Mr Rickman'e, only two horses were used, aud the work was dove m quite as satisfactory a manuer, the machine cuttiug the laid stuff as well Ihe machine is ot light draught, easy of transit, with strong castings, and is m every way suitable to the New Zealand farmer. The expression of the onlookers were unaoimous m praise of lhe machine, and testimony was practically born© to tho value oE the binder by those present at the different trials signing testimonials as to the quality of (he wor& successfully performed by it, which were forwa ded to Messrs Friedlander Bros., the JSew ZeaUnd "agents.
