An inquest nraa held to-day on tbe body of a lad named Burgess who died white ohloroform was being adminlate ed prior to an operation by two medical men . The lad was In a very weak state, but there was nothing to indioa'e that it would be dangerous to administer the aesthetic. A post mortem, however, revealed that a portion of the brain was engorged with blood, and the aotion of the chloroform on this reaoted on the heart, stopping its aotion suddenly. A verdiot of " Death from misadventure " was returned, the evidence being to the effect that the doctors oould not have foreseen the fatal result, and were jaatlfiad In attempting the operation.
