He waa very drunk and very violent. — The accused wheD asked if he had anything to say m his defence said he had not, thoagh when the arresting Constable was glvlDg his evidence Outran said that the Constable had used a good deal of violence and that he (Curran) thought he was entitled to be violent as well. — On the charge of drunkenness a fine of 5a and coata was bflioted. An it w«s the accused's first appearance the Bench took a lenient view of the oharges of resisting and assaulting the police, though they warned him that he was liable to three months imprisonment, A fiae of 40s and costs, or seven days Imprisonment was irfl^oted^
