NEW ZEALAND MUTTON IN ENGLAND.
It has often been said m the colonies that New Zealand mutton la sold m England as prime Euglish. and here la a corroboratlon from an English paper : " It ia cheerful to read m these hungry | fkya (says the Liverpool " Weekly Poat") [ that one steamer brought on Sa-nrday from New Zealand 35,000 oarcaaea of mutton. But what becomes of it all ? Yon may go to s thousand bntohers* shops and not be able to bay a pound of Now Zealand mutton. It is told »b prime English mutton at high prices, whioh must be an exhilarating Item of news to the English farmer." If this Is exhilarating to the English farmer it ia quite the opposite to the New Zealani grower, who is diddled out of the greater part of the real value of the sheep to enrich the London hu< cher or middleman.
