UPPER ASHBURTON ROAD BOARD
The usual monthly mooting of the ahova | took place at Tinwald on Monday, 27th February. Proaont— Me3sra D, McLean (Cbairmac), 0. J. Harpar, and R, Campbell. The mlnutea of the prevlonß mooting were read aid confirmed. Correspondence vyaa road ac follows :~ (1) From Mr W. Sutherland, re Dromore contract.— Tho Clerk waa directed to call for frcah tenders for tho work, and write Mr Snrhorland that effect : (2, 3, 4, 5) FiMin County Council, re rates fn river, district, fords over water-raceo. etc., and diversion of storm water.— The' Clerk to reply that the wishes of tho Ooancil shall bo attended to. Several lottora ware received from Go. veramont and from ratepayer?, and were directed to be anowerod. Mr It. Campbell gave notice that at the next meeting ho should move — "That I No. 5 Ward be eubdivided into two pori tiona. enoh part returning la own mom- ' bar." The Clerk's report waa read, and after cartaia works of an unimportant n&tore had boon authorised to be undertaken, waa adopted. Tho Olerk waa direoted to lasue Biimmonaes a:;ainat ail peraona whose ratea remain unpaid. Accouuta amounting to £35 Ha 3i wero panned for payment, and tho Board ad joornei 1 1 March 31at, 1888.
