A STEAM BALLOON
There Is muoh talk of • steam balloon (eaya "Industries") which ia being built by a M Yon. The form is that of a fish, and Its dimensions are gigantic, the length being 200 ft. It Is to be enclosed m the usual manner In a net, from whioh the car wili be suspended. The latter will be provided with a rudder and a trapezidinl screw, to be driven by a oompact steam engine weighing 37401 b. This weight allows 701 b per {.h.p. M. Yon, m an account which be has published of his Invention, says that he hopes to attain a ■peed In a calm atmosphere of 13 or 11 miles a second. Such a speed would not disgrace the Inferior members of the planetary system, but possibly M. Yon meant honrs when he talks of seconds.
