A WONDERFUL WATCH-DIAL
A gentleman oonneoted with an Illinois watoh oompany has a wonderfully curious watoh-dlal. Instead of tbe Roman numerals to denote the honrs, there ate eleven small but very dlstloot silhouette , figures, representing a man out ith his' dog for a day's sport. At seven o'clock he is Been starting out with his gun ancf dog ; at 8 o'clock he makes a shot j at 9 o'clock he has a sandhill crane, which measures as long as himself * at 10 o'olook the man and bis dog are soared at the sight of • jaok-rabblt, which Is sitting upon his hind legs, with his big long ears raised above the hushes ; at 11 o'clock the hunter takes a drink, and while ln this attitude the dog sits m front of his master, with his nose pointing directly at the flask ; at 12 o'olook the sportsman ii seen Bitting on a stump and Is eating a Innoh — tbe dog Ia eyeing the pieoe of bread which the hunter has m his hand. At 1 o'olook he starts out to fiah the rest of tbe day, and so be takes his dog and fishing taokle and goes to the water ; and at 2 o'olook the dog, which is behind his master, has been oaugbt with the hook by an attempt to throw iv his line ; at 3 o'olook he- and the- dog are all straightened out again and the line ia m the water, he has both hands on the pole, and his foot braced on a stump by the water's edge, ao though be had a tre* mendous bite ; at 4 o'olook the man hai got a big fiah on his line, which hai pulled him off his feet, and he falls on the dog and ddhbles him all up, but the man lo holding fast to the pole, wh toh is bent almbßt 'double; at 0 o'clock he .fall straightened out again, bis pole la thrown across his shoulder, and with his mjh In the other band he starts oat for home, the dog following behind with his head hanging down, being tired out, The man's name is also painted In the centra •>f the dial In rustle letters. The figure Vf. is superseded by the le.onds.—. " Jewelry Fewa."
